Well it has been some time coming but here it is. I have finally got all of my things back and am properly settled back home in Adelaide. It’s great to be back, although recent heat has left me a little melted after three years of just English summers!
To celebrate being home and for a bit of a change I have decided to (slightly) redesign my website and identity. Make it a little more ‘me’ to try and help me find some more work now I am home again.
You may notice the little pictures up in the top left of the screen that randomly pop up each time a page loads, they are me! Yes, I used to be much cuter and smaller than I am now.
I have decided on a simple identity: me, and the simple phrase of ‘hello’. I am selling myself, and my own services and wanting to introduce myself and meet new people. What better way to do it that by using photos of me and greeting everyone with a nice friendly hello.
All the photos are all pretty much from the early and mid 80’s. I had the thought and idea that I am selling my services and work, I came to the realisation that I am who I am today because of everything I have done in the past: every cut knee after falling off my bike, every bad t-shirt my mum used to dress me in and every strange looking haircut I have ever had. Everything has led to me being who and what I am today.
Welcome to me and a big HELLO from me, I am Jonathan Barge - visual communicator. Please contact me if you want to have a chat or to enquire about my work. I am happy to come out and see you with my portfolio under to discuss things further.

Well after 3.5 years in London I retuned to Adelaide via Malaysia on Monday. What a change it has been, I think I have gotten used to all of the different time zones I have been in the last week!
I have now updated my contact details in the contact section with my new mobile number, although my email address will still be the same.
I am currently looking for both freelance and or permanent graphic design work here in Adelaide so if anyone hears of or needs anything done please get in touch.
*update*
I have now updated the profile section with a new profile as well as new resumé with all of my current contact details.

Checked my email this morning and got a very nice surprise when reading the Calumet Photographic e-newsletter, at the bottom in the ‘Photo of the week’ section was an image I thought looked familiar, upon a second look I realised that they had selected my image of ‘Ploughed Fields’ taken in Lincolnshire a few weeks ago as their photo of the week! It’s also right there at the bottom of their website as well. Very nice surprise! Thank you Calumet.

Just a quick update to let people know I have added a few new pieces to the Design Archive and Photos of an Everyday Life. There are a couple of new logos and website designs in the archive and some new photos in the Everyday Life gallery to check out.
Also it is only 28 more days until I leave London and just over a month until I arrive back in Adelaide, Australia. If anyone knows of any jobs, preferably permanent or freelance graphic design then please contact me and let me know!

I was lucky enough to spend some time with family up in Lincolnshire over the weekend just gone and I took my camera with me.
Between being used as a climbing frame and being bugged by my little cousins I managed to get some really nice shots, which to me sum up very much the mood and relaxed atmosphere of the place. It’s such a nice escape from the noise and constant pressure of London… even with the constant chit chat of little cousins in my ear!
